Import a job from the Matterport Capture app
If you never ordered an E57, the job you scanned with the Capture app still holds enough to rebuild the space.
Export the job
The Capture app can save any job as a ZIP file.
In the Matterport Capture app on your iPad or iPhone, open the job's menu and choose Export. The app builds a ZIP and lets you save it to Files, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive. Upload that ZIP to Spacery as it is, without renaming or changing anything inside it.
If the job is no longer on your device but the space is still in your Matterport account, Matterport's Cloud Restore can download its original scan data back into the app, and you can export it from there.
What the job holds
Much more than the panoramas.
Alongside raw sensor data, the job records where the app placed every scan, a cloud of depth points for each one and small panorama images. Spacery reads all of it, so the space is measured rather than guessed.
What Spacery builds
A measured space, placed the way the Capture app aligned it.
Each scan becomes a stop at the position the app recorded, in meters. The depth points are fused into a surface model of up to 50,000 triangles, floors are measured, and the stops are linked the way the app aligned them, so visitors can walk through and pull back to a dollhouse view.
Scans the app could not align are left out, and the note you get when the space is ready says how many.
What to expect
The panoramas are softer than an E57 export.
The app keeps only small 512 pixel panoramas on the device, because Matterport builds the full resolution images in its cloud. Positions, measurements and the model come through exactly, but the views look soft on a large screen. If you can still order the E57 for the space, that route gives sharper panoramas.
